Our Small Business Pandemic Plan
Our business is built on community, authenticity, and relationships. After a monumental week I wanted to share what we’ve done to strengthen us as a whole and give you some honest communication about our steps moving forward.
The question everyone wants to know is, how are we doing financially.
We are okay for the time being, however if this continues or we lose subscribers we won’t be for long. We encourage you to stay a part of our community or share our community with others who can join for online connection. We are already living lives of isolation, do not decrease it now.
We also want to encourage you that if everyone does their small part we can grow as a whole. This is what community is all about! This is the rising together, this is it girls, this is a challenge and we are up for it!
We have increased our programming that keeps us connected to one another. Please hop online for it, it encourages us all to keep going!
We ask you to please login to ZOOM and take part in our online offerings. They are all included with your subscription and we’ve upped your monthly allowance to have more opportunities. We need each other right now, I know I sure do!
Also, join a small group! We have a framework built and easy to share with you, we can appoint one of you as a leader, and you simple connect monthly over zoom depending on your groups availability.
One more thing, we have 3 or 4 spots left in the book club, WellRead. Message Sacha on Slack if you want to join.
Now for the news:
We’ve laid off our team members for the time being. Hannah & Leane are still apart of our community and would love if you could reach out to them in this time. They will be our first rehires and you will continue to see them online, on slack, hosting events, and writing. They are Well Women and will continue to be part of our community, I can’t stress this enough. Reach out to them please.
Tammy is taking over email, slack, social media, and hosting most online events. Please have patience with her as she takes on homeschooling 3 kids, navigating this new online business, and caring deeply for all of you. Her heart is with each and every one of you and thinks of you all the time.
Our landlord has deferred rent for 2 months! YAY! Celebrate the small things! We still have to pay it, but not until June 1. This is so important that we continue to grow this community right now and not stand still or decrease. When June 1 comes, we will be paying Apr and May rent tacked on to June/July/Aug/Sept so we’ll need our numbers to be strong. Your contribution counts!
Kristina will continue to host Working Well and The Well will pay her on a contract basis. Our next one is Building a Business Plan, and there’s no time like the present to review yours or create a new one! This is the time to dig into your business and do some ‘behind the scenes’ work!
Not sure if you know this but most of The Well’s income comes from Tammy’s photography and community/member rentals in our space. Both of which are not available right now. This is why we’ve taken some pretty drastic measures.
We are using this forced slowness wisely, and will be ready to ramp up when the brakes are off. We are also enjoying it too. We have time to walk more, cuddle more, watch movies, and just be in the presence of our family.
Tammy is doing everything in her power to keep this community alive, growing, and strengthened and she TRUSTS this time. She is studying leadership, culture, and the Word of God, as well as learning how to homeschool and how to be a patient gracious mom with kids at home full time. She is a positive beacon of light, and sometimes a crumbling puddle of tears. She would love any encouragement during this time. Most of all, don’t give up on her or The Well. This community is bigger than this pandemic, don’t forget that.
Xoxo The Well Team
