Mental Health Spotlight - Dr. Karen Doll

Personal connection and commitment make a significant impact on each of us in our community, Dr. Karen Doll has been that person for Well partner Kristina Frost. Dr Doll is Krisitina’s Well-Being coach and she’s been a champion for mental health wellness for over 24 years.

Dr. Doll is a licensed psychologist, consultant and coach who has worked with a wide range of leadership, social impact and professional organizations. She brings us clarity by first defining mental health.

“Mental health is a state of successful performance of psychological functions, resulting in productive activities, fulfilling relationships with people, and the ability to adapt to change and cope with stress.”

Her work focuses on meeting people wherever they are on the continuum, often that’s somewhere in the middle, in the “languishing” we have so often found ourselves during this pandemic. She strives to help people regain their “psychological fitness”.

Dr. Doll is passionate about reducing the stigma of mental health challenges as well as educating on the effects of stigma. People sink further into isolation and shame, avoid treatment for fear of labels which may result in a deterioration of overall health, loss of esteem, increased bullying and result in uncertainty in school and work outcomes.
